POSITION PURPOSE

The Assistant Technical Service Manager – ADTS supports Technical Manager in application development and technical service activities for customers and internal stakeholders in the coatings, adhesives, textile coating and packaging.

The role requires strong hands-on experience in formulation development, laboratory evaluations, technical troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical support. The position plays a critical role in enabling customer success, supporting product/application implementation, and contributing to business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Application Development & Formulation

- Develop, optimize, and adapt formulations for: - Water-based polymer systems - Water-based and solvent-based coatings - Adhesives and specialty binders - Protective and functional coatings - Conduct laboratory-scale formulation development and optimization. - Support scale-up activities and transition from laboratory to customer trials and production environments.

Technical Service & Customer Support

- Provide technical service support to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams. - Troubleshoot formulation, processing, and application-related issues. - Support customer trials, demonstrations, and application evaluations. - Deliver technical presentations and training to customers and internal teams.

Laboratory Evaluation & Testing

- Plan and execute laboratory evaluations, testing, and performance benchmarking against internal and competitive products. - Apply standard and application-specific test methods relevant to coatings, adhesives, and polymer systems. - Ensure accurate documentation, data integrity, and structured reporting of experimental results.

Product & Business Support

- Support new product development, qualification, and product launches. - Provide structured technical feedback to R&D, marketing, and sales teams. - Contribute to competitive analysis and market-driven application insights. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Production.

Compliance, Safety & Documentation

- Ensure compliance with EHS, quality, and regulatory guidelines within the ADTS laboratory. - Maintain laboratory documentation in line with ISO and internal quality systems. - Promote safe laboratory practices and continuous improvement in lab operations.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

- 7–10 years of relevant industry experience in application development, technical service, or formulation-based roles. - Strong hands-on formulation experience in: - Water-based polymers and emulsions - Water-based and solvent-based coatings - Adhesives and specialty binders - Protective coatings - Polymer systems - Proven experience in laboratory-scale development, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving. - Exposure to customer technical support, application trials, and collaboration with sales and marketing teams. - Experience supporting scale-up activities is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Minimum Qualification (preferred):

- Post Graduate degree in Science specifically Organic Chemistry or Bachelor of Engineering with a specialization in Chemical/Polymer

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

- Combination of laboratory and office-based work. - Regular interaction with customers and internal stakeholders. - Travel within India for customer support and trials as required. - Exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipment with strict adherence to safety protocols.
