Prevention Family Specialist - Stepping Stones Program (5866)

The Prevention Family Specialist goal is to preserve the family unit by providing supportive casework counseling in the home and empower parents with tools and resources to ensure children's safety, well-being and permanency while providing advocacy to ensure quality services. Required co-locations are our office in the Capital Region and Albany Probation/Albany County Courthouse.

The Stepping Stones program is an alternative to detention program which offers intensive crisis intervention. The program’s goal is to reduce the county’s need to place youth into detention facilities.

96% of youth remained in the home communities at the time of discharge and avoided the need for out of home placement.
