About the role

Work Flexibility: Onsite

What you will do:

- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications, models, and schematics using CAD software, preferably Creo Parametric; BOMs, design records, verification artifacts, and technical reports while ensuring compliance with quality system requirements and design control processes. - Create, modify, and control complex 2D and 3D part, assembly, and manufacturing drawings from engineering concepts, design inputs, sketches, and technical requirements. - Generate manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and installation drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5, ISO, and applicable company standards. - Collaborate closely with Industrial Design, Human Factors, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate industrial design intent into manufacturable product solutions while resolving design challenges and technical discrepancies. - Develop, maintain, and improve drafting standards, modeling practices, and documentation procedures while supporting CAD data migration and translation activities across design systems as required. - Lead and drive Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring timely implementation, technical accuracy, risk assessment, and cross-functional alignment throughout the product lifecycle. - Perform engineering assessments to resolve design deficiencies, regulatory or standards compliance gaps, obsolescence issues, and field-reported concerns. Support design remediation, component substitutions, equivalency evaluations, qualification activities, and product enhancement initiatives. - Apply GD&T principles, dimensional tolerances, fit analyses, and tolerance allocation methodologies to ensure robust and manufacturable product designs. - Demonstrate strong proficiency in one-dimensional and multi-dimensional tolerance stack-up analysis using ASME Y14.5 standards and statistical tolerance analysis methods to assess product performance and manufacturability. - Support concept development, prototyping, design verification, validation activities, cost optimization initiatives, value engineering projects, and continuous improvement efforts. - Apply sound mechanical engineering fundamentals and industry best practices in the design of plastic and metal components, assemblies, and electromechanical systems. - Possess hands-on experience designing injection-molded plastic components and assemblies, including consideration of tooling requirements, manufacturability, assembly, reliability, and cosmetic requirements. - Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product performance, quality, cost, and manufacturing efficiency. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of engineering thermoplastics and material selection methodologies, including material properties, environmental considerations, regulatory requirements, and performance trade-offs. - Experience with Moldflow analysis, interpretation of simulation results, and incorporation of findings into product and tooling design is desirable. - Possess a foundational understanding of thermal management concepts, including heat transfer mechanisms, heat sink design, thermal interface materials, and thermal simulation methodologies for electronic products. - Collaborate with PCBA, Electrical, and Systems Engineering teams on board layout reviews, component placement, packaging integration, and ECAD-MCAD verification activities. - Demonstrate knowledge of relevant engineering and product testing standards, including IEC, IEEE, UL, ANSI, and ISO requirements applicable to electromechanical and medical device products. - Effectively collaborate and communicate across geographically distributed teams and cross-functional disciplines to drive technical alignment, project execution, and successful product outcomes.
