In this role, you will design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality software in close collaboration with other engineers and cross-functional partners.
You will work at the intersection of desktop applications, embedded device communication, and factory tooling, enabling reliable interaction with e‑bike systems via USB/HID and other interfaces.
The position is based in our office in Cham (ZG) and has a 4-day in-office expectation.
Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement shared business logic across our desktop platforms using Kotlin and KMP. - Integrate platform‑specific components where required. - Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following established engineering standards and design principles. - Write and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of coding standards and development practices. - Analyse and resolve software defects, performance issues, and reliability problems across supported platforms. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, release processes, and development tooling. - Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented features, interfaces, and operational workflows. - Collaborate with product management and quality teams to refine requirements and define clear acceptance criteria. - Use and contribute to AI-enhanced software development processes
- Embedded & Device Communication
- Design and implement robust communication with embedded e‑bike systems. - Work with USB/HID and other wired interfaces to support diagnostics, maintenance, and factory assembly processes. - Collaborate closely with embedded firmware engineers to align protocols and tooling.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the solution architect, product management, embedded teams, manufacturing, and quality teams. - Communicate technical topics clearly and collaborate effectively across disciplines. - Contribute to planning, estimation, and technical risk assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) in production systems. - Strong understanding of Ktor and modern asynchronous/networked application design. - Experience contributing to complex software systems with a focus on maintainable, testable code. - Hands‑on experience with device communication, ideally using USB/HID protocols. - Strong background in software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD. - Ability to work independently, contribute constructively to technical discussions, and support team delivery. - Excellent communication skills and a strong team‑player mindset.
