Ultrasound Technologist

This position exists in the Radiology Department and involves responsibility for performing diagnostic medical examinations of patients using real-time ultrasound imaging and duplex Doppler ultrasound. The work is performed under the general direction of a Radiologist, with leeway allowed for exercising independent judgment in carrying out technical details of the work. The incumbent performs related work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by Radiologist, evaluating images for technical and diagnostic quality.

- Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.

- Maintain equipment and work area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for procedures.

- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment to ensure patient and staff safety.

- Maintain and record appropriate documentation regarding procedures according to established protocols.

- Assist with training and supervision of student interns as needed.
