About the role

Joining the Isaac Applications Team as a Robotics Software Engineering Intern, you will help develop pioneering workflows for Physical AI robots. This role offers a unique chance to connect simulation, robot learning, and real-world deployment. You will focus on how AI agents assist developers in creating, executing, and improving end-to-end workflows that bring learned robot behaviors from simulation into real environments. If you possess solid software engineering skills, hands-on experience with physical robots, and enthusiasm for applying AI agents in robotics, we want to hear from you!

What you'll be doing:

- Explore and develop agentic methods that simplify robotics development, from simulation and robot learning to deployment on physical robots. - Develop tools and workflows that assist developers in transferring learned policies from simulation to real-world applications. - Apply and validate these approaches on a humanoid reference platform, showcasing NVIDIA’s robotics technology. - Collaborate with engineers across teams to integrate robotics capabilities into practical, repeatable development workflows.

What we need to see:

- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with C++. - Practical experience in developing, deploying, or testing software on physical robots. - Academic coursework or project experience in machine learning, control, or robotics. - Interest in applying AI agents to real-world robotics development challenges.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

- Experience developing AI agents that aid software development or automate technical workflows. - Experience in training, assessing, or transferring learned robot policies from simulation to physical hardware. - Experience with humanoid robots or mobile manipulators. - Previous internships or robotics research involving coordinated software and hardware systems.
