A day in the life of a Pediatric Dental Assistant

- Expose digital diagnostic X-Rays

- Record clinical findings and treatment information in patient records - Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients. - Clean teeth, using dental instruments including toothbrush and prophy cup - Apply fluoride varnish, Sealants, and SDF - Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. - Pour, trim, and polish study casts. - Assist in consults and treatment of tongue and lip ties on infants and children - Assist chairside with nitrous while utilizing behavior guidance techniques - Assist chairside during IV Sedation - Assist in the hospital for general anesthesia surgery cases - Maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule - Cement stainless steel crowns, and space maintainers** - Fill and finish restorations**
