About the role:

We are looking for a People Principal Lead to serve as the custodian of our organizational culture and lead the People function. Key responsibilities:

- Culture Custodianship: Preserve, nurture, and evolve our unique organizational culture and values across all teams and touchpoints. - Employee Lifecycle Management: Direct and execute all stages of the employee lifecycle, with a focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, and professional development. - Performance & Engagement Systems: Own and implement core People processes, including employee engagement initiatives, 360-degree feedback cycles, and performance management systems. - Employee Relations & Communication: Maintain a continuous pulse on team morale, resolve escalations, address conflict proactively, and lead difficult conversations when necessary. - Policy & Governance: Continuously review, revise, and develop organizational policies to ensure relevance, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. - Operations & Event Management: Design and execute systems that promote productivity (time, work, and self-management) and organize key team events, including retreats, module closings, and in-person workdays.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Work Experience: 8–12 years of proven HR/People leadership experience, preferably within the education or social development sectors. - Judgment & Empathy: Sound, timely decision-making abilities that balance employee-centric empathy with organizational objectives. - Emotional Maturity: Exceptional emotional regulation, strong perspective-taking, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure. - Adaptability & Resilience: Comfortable navigating uncertainty, managing organizational change, and holding firm on decisions under pressure. - Interpersonal Skills: High emotional intelligence with a proven ability to read people, build deep trust, and earn respect across all levels. - Communication & Execution: Excellent written and verbal communication, coupled with strong project management skills and self-accountability.
