About the role
The TVET Training Assistant will support the delivery of competency-based technical and vocational education programmes in accordance with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) approved National Occupational Standards (NOS). The Associate will work closely with Facilitators and Instructors to assist in practical and classroom training, learner support, workshop management, assessment activities, and record keeping across various trades including Beauty and Cosmetology, Solar Installation and Maintenance, Electrical Installation, Catering and Hospitality, Satellite and CCTV Installation, Poultry Services, Leather Works, and Computer Hardware Repair and Maintenance. The role is designed for young professionals seeking hands-on experience in technical and vocational education, workforce development, and skills training. Key Responsibilities 1. Assist Facilitators in delivering classroom and practical training sessions based on NBTE-approved National Occupational Standards (NOS). 2. Support trainees during practical exercises, demonstrations, and workshop activities. 3. Prepare training materials, tools, equipment, and learning resources before each training session. 4. Maintain training workshops, laboratories, and learning environments to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality. 5. Monitor trainee attendance and participation and assist in maintaining accurate training records. 6.Provide guidance and mentorship to trainees during learning activities and practical assignments. 7. Assist in conducting competency-based assessments and documenting learner performance. 8. Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental procedures within training facilities. 9. Help manage inventories of training equipment, consumables, and workshop materials. 10. Assist in organizing assessment, practical tests, exhibitions, and skills demonstration events. 11. Support data collection, reporting, and documentation required for programme monitoring and evaluation. 12. Participate in facilitator meetings, capacity-building activities, and continuous professional development programmes. 13. Promote professionalism, discipline, teamwork, and inclusive participation among trainees. 14. Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining training equipment relevant to assigned trades. 15. Perform other training and administrative duties assigned by the Centre Coordinator or Lead Facilitator. Preferred Qualifications 1. B.Sc, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical or vocational field. 2. Basic knowledge of at least one of the following trades: Beauty and Cosmetology, Solar Installation, Electrical Installation, Catering and Hospitality, Satellite and CCTV Installation, Poultry Services, Leather Works, or Computer Hardware Repair and Maintenance. 3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 4. Ability to work effectively with young people and adult learners. 5. Willingness to learn and support competency-based training delivery. 6. Basic computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
