Clinical Therapist - Outpatient Clinic Job Summary: The Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services (MHOTRS) Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy across the lifespan and treats a full range of behavioral health conditions using evidence based, trauma informed, and person centered clinical approaches. Clinicians deliver integrated outpatient mental health services within a multidisciplinary team and coordinate care with community agencies to support recovery and whole person wellness Essential Job Duties: • Direct Clinical Services • Provide culturally sensitive clinical services, including: • Comprehensive assessments • Treatment planning • Individual, family, and group psychotherapy • Crisis intervention • Consultation and education to families about services • Maintain a standard caseload consistent with program expectations (typically 8-9 client sessions per day, 45 minutes each). • Deliver trauma-responsive, per-centered, and co-occurring competent care using evidence-based practices. Documentation and Compliance • Document services and client progress thoroughly and on time, ensuring compliance with: • Agency policies • NYS OMH Part 599 MHOTRS (Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Rehabilitative Services) regulations • Standards of Care • Medicaid and insurance documentation standards • Follow clinic policies and established procedures for service delivery, treatment planning, and record maintenance Care Coordination and Program Participation • Identify and address social determinants of health and coordinate referrals to community resources as needed. • Collaborate with community providers, including schools, hospitals, and care coordination agencies, to ensure continuity of care. • Participate in program development, team meetings, and clinical training initiatives. • Contribute to a collaborative, trauma-informed clinic culture aligned with MHOTRS service guidelines. Skills: • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. • Flexibility, creativity, initiative, and problem solving in clinical practice. • Computer Skills • Client/Patient/Customer Skills Knowledge of: • Community mental health interventions • Family, marriage, and child counseling • Crisis intervention practices Education Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling Experience Requirements: At least 1 year of experience working with children and families in a Social Work or Mental Health setting. This may include an internship. License/Registration/Required Qualifications: • NYS LCSW • NYS LMSW • NYS LMHC, NYS LMHC-P • NYS Licensed Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) • Other OMH approved licenses: Students and Limited Permits Demonstrated competence in: • Trauma-Informed care • Person-centered approaches • Evidence-based practice • Co-occurring (MH/SUD) competence • Strong documentation, engagement, and clinical assessment skills Training Requirements: New Hire Orientation Performance Competency: Professional Physical Requirements: • The overall nature of the position is sedentary, requiring little physical effort with occasional light physical exertion required. There is little, if any, exposure to environmental conditions. • The constant physical demand of the position is sitting. • The frequent physical demands of the position are standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination. • The occasional physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
