Job Summary The Tax Assistant is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the organization’s tax-related activities, record keeping, documentation, and compliance processes. The role involves assisting with the preparation and filing of tax documents, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring tax deadlines, and providing administrative support to the finance and tax team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, willing to learn, and able to handle confidential financial information responsibly. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing and organizing tax returns, schedules, computations, and supporting documents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tax-related transactions and documentation. Support the preparation and submission of statutory tax filings under the supervision of senior staff. Assist in monitoring tax payment and filing deadlines to ensure timely compliance. Help reconcile tax-related accounts and identify discrepancies for review. Assist with the collection and verification of financial information required for tax computations. Maintain proper filing systems for tax documents, receipts, certificates, returns, and correspondence. Support the preparation of reports and schedules for internal reviews, audits, and tax assessments. Assist in responding to routine tax-related inquiries and requests for information. Keep track of relevant tax notices, correspondence, and documentation received from tax authorities. Support the finance team during tax audits, inspections, and compliance reviews. Assist in reviewing invoices and financial documents to ensure appropriate tax treatment. Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial and tax information. Stay informed about basic changes in applicable tax rules, regulations, and compliance requirements. Perform other tax, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.
