MISSION: The mission of the YMCA of the Foothills is to organize, develop, finance, and conduct programs for an association of persons of all ages that will, by putting Christian principles into practice, enrich the quality of their lives spiritually, mentally, physically and socially. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Healthy Living Director, the small group trainer, strength and conditioning instructor and personal trainer will have the primary responsibility for building relationships with the members and for instructing the to exercise, according to accepted YMCA fitness standards and guidelines, to help members reach their health and fitness goals. Personal trainers will costumize individual programs to accommodate members needs, injuries and desired outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to explain and demonstrate safe exercise principles to our members Ability to develop and implement exercise programs Ability to proactively communicate with members about the programs and packages available Ensure safety regulations are always followed Carry all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner The personal trainer is responsible for providing members with a clean, hazard-free and pleasant environment at the YMCA of the Foothills. The personal trainer is expected to provide leadership that keeps the YMCA in the forefront of the healthy lifestyle and service industry. Follows YMCA policies and procedures including but not limited to medical and disciplinary situations, emergencies, dress guidelines and cleanliness standards. Maintains positive relations and rapport with members, staff and volunteers at all time. Supports other staff and volunteers through good communication skills.
