About the role
Are you experienced in managing the full sales lifecycle — from prospecting and solution design through to negotiation and contract close? Do you combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and resilience in complex environments? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving growth across South Africa and key African markets. Reporting to the Country Sales Manager, Africa, the Business Development Manager will be instrumental in accelerating growth across our South Africa Inland region and broader African markets. Role Responsibilities Overview: Business Growth & Sales Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across the region Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, ensuring consistent revenue growth Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract agreements Account Management Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers Grow existing accounts through cross-sell and upsell opportunities Deliver regular business reviews and performance updates Customer & Market Engagement Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across pharma and biotech organisations Understand customer needs and design compliant, value-added solutions Provide market insights to support regional growth strategies Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with operations, quality, legal, and finance teams to deliver integrated solutions Ensure compliance with GDP/GMP and company standards Performance & Reporting Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting data (CRM driven) Track financial performance including revenue, profitability, and cash flow metrics What you'll bring: Proven success in a senior, commercially driven business development or sales role Strong track record of winning and growing strategic accounts Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills Experience within specialist logistics, freight forwarding, or life sciences/pharma supply chains Understanding of regulated environments (GDP/GMP preferred) Strong commercial and financial acumen with a value-based selling approach Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset Results-driven with a strong growth mindset Entrepreneurial and proactive Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, complex environment Customer-focused with a consultative approach Confident communicator with executive presence What We Offer You: Competitive salary: ZAR 780,000 – ZAR 940,000 per annum Comprehensive benefits including: Group Life Medical Aid Enhanced Maternity Leave Pension 20 days annual leave + volunteering leave + birthday leave Commission Scheme Car Allowance + Fuel Card Employee Assistance Programme Work Structure: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:30 Field based with 1 day per week working from our Johannesburg office (Kempton Park 1619) Career Growth: Opportunity to shape global operations and develop your career within a growing global organisation To learn more about Biocair, please visit us at: https://www.biocair.com/ Diversity & Inclusion: Biocair is committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome, included, valued and respected.
