Assistant Manager/ Management Trainee

Job Summary and Mission This job contributes to Car Pools success by assisting the store manager in executing operations during scheduled shifts. The incumbent deploys associates and uses applicable task delegation in order for associates to be effective in maintaining a positive car wash experience for our customers. This position effectively manages the store in the absence of the General Manager Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: During shift, directs associates to various workstations to reduce bottlenecks and to ensure speed of service, cleanliness standards, and operational needs are met. Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, respectful coaching and feedback to associates on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve associate performance. Develops positive relationships with shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns. Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned. Follows operational procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all associates during the shift. Utilizes operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift. Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Car Pool. Maintains a calm exterior presence during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team. Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs. Follows up with associates during the shift to ensure the delivery of legendary customer service for all customers. Provides a quality wash product consistently for all customers by adhering to all operational and visual presentation standards. Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a pleasant environment during each shift. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational tools and by collaborating with store manager to find new, creative, and impactful methods of recognition. Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in associate morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager. Assists with new associate training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Provides feedback to store manager on associates performance during shift Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Astutely comprehends financial data and translates information into acceptable performance deliverables Executes team strategies according to labor model with appropriate CPM Maintains store cleanliness during operation and performs consistent close cleanup Reports or repairs equipment breakdowns promptly, preventing poor product off the line or downtime.
