About the role
ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW United Way of Greater Atlanta (UWGA) is in the midst of transformational change, pursuing new strategies to grow revenue and expand impact across the region. UWGA’s mission is to bring together people and resources to drive sustainable and equitable improvements in the well-being of children, families, and individuals across Greater Atlanta. Through its bold vision to triple unrestricted revenue by 2029, UWGA is positioning itself as a best-in-class investor in child well-being, advancing solutions that eliminate barriers tied to zip code and drive long-term community impact. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The Multi-Year Campaign team plays a central role in UWGA’s fundraising strategy, leading donor engagement, campaign execution, and philanthropic partnerships. The team works collaboratively across Development, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership to align strategy, messaging, and operations in support of a multi-year aspirational giving campaign. JOB SUMMARY The Director of Campaign Operations & Communications is a key leadership position within the multi-year campaign team, responsible for advancing the campaign strategy established by the Vice President of Multi-Year Giving. This role leads the development and execution of campaign communications, collaborates closely with Marketing and Communications on campaign messaging and visibility, and oversees the creation of executive communications, donor-facing materials, proposals, reports, and other strategic deliverables that support campaign success. Working in close partnership with the Vice President of Multi-Year Giving, the Director helps align campaign priorities, strengthen donor engagement strategies, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality communications and materials that advance campaign objectives. The role is focused on high-impact initiatives, including proposal development, executive positioning, campaign storytelling, stakeholder communications, and enhancing campaign visibility among donors, volunteers, and community partners. In addition, the Director provides strategic oversight of campaign operations and implementation activities carried out by the Assistant Director, ensuring effective coordination, operational excellence, and seamless execution across all campaign functions. This position serves as a critical bridge between strategy and execution, helping to drive campaign momentum, donor engagement, and overall fundraising success.
