About the role
Purpose We are looking for a remote Solar PV System Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing site plans for solar panel installation. The candidate will work remotely, taking initial system concept ideas and translating them into fully detailed, construction-ready designs. This role involves coordinating with multiple team members and customers to balance customer solutions with the efficiency of standard practices (International Standards and Local Standards such as MOMRA and SEC). Scope We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated PV System Engineer to join our team remotely for large-scale rooftop and ground-mounted PV system projects in Saudi Arabia. This position is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in executing PV projects and preparing detailed shop drawings, who can effectively collaborate and communicate with the team while working from a remote location. Responsibilities: 1. Perform accurate system sizing calculations and develop optimal designs, including SLD, PML, conduit, wire scheduling, routing, equipment plans, and conceptual 3-D renderings, all while working remotely. 2. Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for solar electric systems using computer-aided design (CAD) and PVsyst software, supporting the team remotely. 3. Collaborate with the Technical Design team remotely to produce detailed engineering drawings, technical descriptions, and calculations for engineering signoffs, construction drawings, project licensing, and Executive Designs. 4. Review designs shared by third parties (Contractors or Sub-Contractors) and ensure compliance with regulations, international and local standards, and good engineering practices, while maintaining effective remote communication. 5. Build and calculate detailed bills of materials based on system specifications, efficiently managing tasks remotely. 6. Prepare technical and financial proposals for related projects through remote coordination with the team. 7. Prepare all tender documents in the required formats related to the bid, ensuring timely submission while working remotely. 8. Submit documents within stipulated time limits, managing remote workflows effectively. 9. Develop comprehensive shop drawings for PV systems, including all necessary layouts (site, tray, string), voltage drop calculations (VD), trenches, single-line diagrams (SLD), and more, utilizing remote collaboration tools. 10. Perform detailed load calculations using STAAD and SAP software to ensure the structural integrity of PV installations, while working from a remote location. 11. Coordinate closely with the project management team to ensure that all drawings and calculations meet project specifications and deadlines, leveraging remote communication tools. 12. Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all deliverables, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, while operating remotely. 13. Manage time effectively to complete tasks within given deadlines, demonstrating strong commitment and dedication to remote work responsibilities. 14. Coordinate with respective officials and document the progress of the tender process, utilizing remote communication. 15. Exhibit excellent self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills, essential for successful remote collaboration. 16. Quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility in schedules to meet business needs, particularly in a remote work environment. 17. Perform any other tasks assigned by Management, ensuring seamless remote execution. Requirements · BSc, MCs degree in Electrical or a related discipline. · 5+ years’ experience in Solar PV/Industrial projects · Have experience of PV Systems performance analysis, Monitoring Systems, and the performance guarantees, performance parameters. · Have experience in PV plant design optimization targeting the lowest LCOE. · Strong technical background. · Professional at using PV Systems design (PVsyst, Helioscope, SAAP and STAAD Pro) · Have an experience in construction, operation, and Monitoring of PV plant. · Understanding of contractual terms. · Fair knowledge of Safety and Risk assessment. · Fluency in English required. Preferred Skills: · Good English writing skill (proposal making, correspondence) to make comprehensive offers also verbal communication skill. · Good Technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. · Good Knowledge of MS office (Project, Word & PPT, Excel) is required to carry out the job · Good interpersonal skills.
