About the role
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for operating brake press machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a metal fabrication environment. This position will have experience with blueprints, precision measuring tools, and CNC or manual brake press equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Operates brake press machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components. • Produces simple to medium level of complexity of parts. • Coordinates with team on transporting finished parts. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machine settings and part specifications. • Inspect parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to maintain quality control. • Perform rework tasks as needed. • Maintain a clean and safe workspace by following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment. • Work closely with supervisors and team members to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines. • Perform routine maintenance and report machine malfunctions or maintenance needs. • Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards. • Accurately log job information into ERP computer system. • Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork. • Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
