Scope: Responsible for preparation/distribution of nutritious meals for the Head Start program. Essential Functions Follow all hand washing and food handling guidelines. Obtain necessary head counts to help distribute food effectively. Keep classroom stocked with materials needed for food preparation and distribution and collect used materials for cleaning, sanitation and restocking in a timely manner. Distribute food in a timely manner to facilitate family style meal service. Work with Food Technician and classroom staff to ensure the nutritional needs of all children with food allergies or preferences. Take part in menu planning. Keep kitchen clean and well maintained and notify appropriate staff of any needed repairs. Execute other specific tasks as assigned: some of which are continuing while others are occasional in nature. Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others. Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro’s policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
