EHS Leader

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Environmental, Health & Safety : Through the auditing program, ensure employee compliance to the company’s safety and environmental systems. EH&S incident investigation and reporting. Leads site EH&S training. Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Safety programs. Primary contact with Toronto Water and MECP on environmental regulatory issues. Primary contact for community concerns. Maintains & develops the internal EH&S auditing program. Main contact for Fire Department, owns fire protection plan. Co-ordinates employee safety & JHSC meetings. Maintains and summarizes key KPIs related to environmental issues. Monitors, maintains, and develops Company Environmental programs. Manages effluent treatment system with a “Hands-On Approach”. Manages hazardous waste, waste and recycling disposal contractors. Waste water spill reporting. CHEMTRAX reporting. NPRI reporting. EASR Reporting. Stays up-to-date on all Federal, Provincial and Municipal reporting requirements. Other duties as assigned. Plant Services : Manages building security (keys, key fobs, etc). Updates Nitta TV and physical bulletin boards. This position has the capability to allow for a hybrid work schedule.
