We are looking for a Software Engineer in test – Platform As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET), you join the Platform team, which builds and operates the shared foundations powering all Company's products across France, the Netherlands, and Norway. You are not joining a test execution role. This is a platform engineering role focused on designing, building, and owning quality at scale for mission-critical cloud services (authentication, identity, geospatial platform, and core capabilities). You define how quality is engineered across the platform: from automated testing to performance, tooling, and CI/CD integration. About the Platform team: The Platform team provides the technical backbone used by all company's products. We focus on scalability, reliability, and security, enabling product teams to build faster and with confidence. We work in a cloud-native, microservices environment, closely aligned with CloudOps, backend engineers, and architects. What you will do: Design and own the end-to-end testing strategy for platform services Build robust automated API test suites for Spring Boot microservices Implement performance and load testing at scale (k6, Gatling, JMeter…) Integrate quality gates into GitLab CI/CD pipelines Design and improve test environments, tooling, and test data strategies Strengthen observability and quality signals in collaboration with CloudOps Partner with developers to embed quality early in the delivery lifecycle Drive engineering best practices across teams (testing, reliability, automation) Required: 4–5+ years of experience as SDET, QA Engineer, or Backend Engineer with strong testing focus Strong experience in automated API testing (REST Assured, Karate, Postman/Newman or similar) Hands-on experience with performance and load testing (k6, Gatling, JMeter…) Strong programming skills in Java or Python Comfortable with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) Experience in cloud environments (AWS preferred) Exposure to observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus) is a plus Knowledge of contract testing or security testing is a plus Strong engineering mindset: you design, challenge, and improve systems—not just execute tests Autonomous, pragmatic, and able to influence engineering teams without formal authority Fluent in English What the company offers: Flexible and dynamic work environment, 4 HO days Competitive salary + variable Employee contract, salary paid in Hungarian currency International environment (France, Netherlands, Hungary) Agile & Scrum methodologies High-impact products Leading European Construction Tech company Strong technical ownership Office: 1122 Budapest + 4 HO days
