WBG Treasury is the Vice Presidency (VPU), reporting to the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer, performing treasury functions for the IBRD, IDA and IFC and, to varying degrees, other members of the World Bank Group and other public and private sector entities. Its activities are organized and grouped into the following divisions: Capital Markets; Asset Management; Client Solutions Structuring; Treasury Operations; Treasury Partnerships Advisory; and Treasury Risk, Compliance Controls. Treasury has been a large and significant participant in the international financial markets for over eighty years and has achieved a global reputation as a prudent and innovative borrower, investor, and risk manager. Treasury is responsible for: (i) managing approximately $300 billion in assets for the World Bank Group and other official sector investors; (ii) leading IBRD's, IDA's and IFC’s triple-A rated financing programs in international and domestic bond and derivative markets; (iii) conducting asset and liability management for IBRD's, IDA’s and IFC's balance sheets; (iv) overseeing the development and outreach related to the financing and hedging products the WBG provides for its developing-country clients; and (v) collaborating with the World Bank member countries to help build their financial markets related capacity through advisory services. Staff in Treasury regularly interact and work with other Departments across the Bank and IFC finance, operations, investment teams. Within World Bank Group Treasury, the Client Solutions and Structuring Department provides financial expertise and innovation using fixed income products including derivatives, structured finance, debt capital market and local currency financing solutions to WBG’s clients in addition to providing advisory services to clients and regulators. The department is looking to appoint an experienced finance professional to join the EMEA team which covers markets across Africa, Middle East, Europe and Central Asia. The individual would lead fixed-income business delivery for complex projects and programs with a focus on local currency financing, structured finance, and debt capital markets; identify opportunities to deliver cross-cutting financial solutions utilizing various WBG balance sheets; take responsibility for providing critical product knowledge to relevant WBG entities across regions; and co-lead the implementation of innovative approaches to expand the provision of meaningful solutions to clients across WBG balance sheets. The position is based in London. Duties and Accountabilities • Lead structuring, risk assessment, pricing and execution of fixed-income client transactions involving structured products, capital markets instruments, local currency financing, and fixed-income derivatives. • Expand the ability of WBG institutions to provide suitable solutions at scale, including new approaches to local currency financing and structured finance solutions in frontier markets, and identify opportunities that leverage various WBG balance sheets. • Proactively identify business opportunities and contribute to business development and innovation in close collaboration with relevant business and support functions. • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including regulators, government entities, investors, global and regional bank counterparts, and capital market firms. • Provide financial product expertise, advice and training to a broader audience across the WBG to support effective delivery of suitable solutions to clients. • Lead and mentor junior colleagues in the team and help colleagues. • Lead strategic initiatives to articulate and implement policies, frameworks, processes and methodologies, and inform corporate decision-making within areas of responsibility. • Take full accountability for business delivery, managing risks, and ensuring that outcomes are aligned with WBG‘s strategy. • Represent the department in relevant internal and external working groups and conferences at senior level.
