Dispensary Technician

The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC), located in the heart of New York City, seeks a Dispensary Technician . This is a rare opportunity to join the world’s largest veterinary teaching hospital and take your career to the next level.

This position is tasked with filling prescriptions, all other clerical and other duties applicable to the dispensary.

Responsibilities:

• Fill prescriptions
• Order, store and keep track of stock
• Greet clients and provide them with efficient, courteous service, both in person and by telephone
• Attend all applicable training courses as offered/required by AMC
• Maintain clean work area, including mopping/sweeping
• All other duties related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• College degree and 2 yrs. work experience or 4 yrs. work experience, two in similar position
• Hospital or retail pharmacy experience and/or certification a plus
• Ability to type and enter information on computer
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to interact calmly, patiently, and effectively with clients
• Ability to work reliably on individual tasks as well as collaboratively in a team environment, showing a proactive approach to supporting daily operations
• Prepared to manage steady workflow demands productively
• Flexible regarding work hours
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions precisely and adhere strictly to Controlled Substance Protocol, OSHA and recycling regulations

Thursday - Monday, 12pm to 8pm
