About the role

Job Summary The electrician is responsible for maintaining installations and performing repairs on buildings and equipment. Main Responsibilities Perform corrective, reactive, and preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and installations, as well as repairs and other project-related work. Coordinate with the lead electrician, facilities supervisor, contractors, other CN departments, and other suppliers to obtain assistance or guidance as needed for various types of work. Working Conditions The position requires responding to emergency calls during nights and weekends, as directed by the supervisor and team leader. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various conditions. The role requires working at heights, in confined spaces, and in any other area where work is needed. Must be service-oriented, as the role interacts with all CN departments. Must be safety-conscious and capable of ensuring a safe working environment for employees and subcontractors. The position requires working away from home for extended periods. The incumbent must be available to work overtime when necessary. Requirements Must hold an interprovincial journeyman electrician certificate or be recognized by Emploi Québec. Must have a valid Class 5 driver's license and be willing to obtain a Class 1 driver's license. Must be able to read and understand electrical drawings for various types of repair, maintenance, project, and troubleshooting work. Must have solid practical knowledge of power distribution and backup power systems, including high voltage. Training The electrician must attend all training sessions as directed by the company. Successful completion of this training is essential for future job performance. This is a unionized position. As such, compensation and benefits are governed by the applicable collective agreement.
