About the role

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a design leadership role at a fast-growing AI-powered procurement platform for the industrial sector, where you'll shape how human buyers and AI agents collaborate on high-stakes cost decisions. You'll build and lead a small team of product designers, establishing design as a strategic partner within a product trio alongside product and engineering. The work directly impacts profitability for large industrial customers and defines a new paradigm for agent-native enterprise software. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Define the interaction model for human–AI collaboration, turning a screen-first product into an agent-native experience where buyers supervise, steer, and handle exceptions. - Develop mental models, UI patterns, and frameworks that make complex procurement decisions — including should-costing, raw material indices, and contract leakage — legible and actionable for non-analyst users. - Own and evolve the design system and component architecture to support agent-driven development and rapid iteration. - Build, hire, and lead a team of ~4 product designers, setting standards for craft, speed, and strategic impact. - Implement UX research best practices company-wide, from study planning and participant recruitment through synthesis and product strategy recommendations. - Champion real user problems and drive shared user understanding across product, engineering, and the broader business. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 6+ years in product design, with at least 2 years leading a design team at a high-growth technology company. - Demonstrated experience hiring, building, and running processes for a team of ~4 product designers. - Hands-on track record establishing and leading a UX research program end-to-end. - Deep experience designing data-heavy, workflow-driven enterprise or B2B products — ideally with exposure to procurement, supply chain, or adjacent complex domains. - Strong systems thinking: you design in frameworks and patterns, not just individual screens. - Genuine fluency with AI as a design material, including a clear point of view on LLMs, agents, and automation. - Comfortable moving between strategic leadership and hands-on craft as the moment demands. - Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required. LOCATION On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available.
