About the role

St. Thomas More Catholic School is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for our students, families, staff, and visitors. The Receptionist plays an important role in creating a warm, professional, and safe environment for our school community. This position requires someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well, can manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable working in a busy school setting. Responsibilities Welcome and assist students, parents, staff, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries. Monitor the school’s front entrance and assist with visitor check-in and school security procedures. Assist parents and families with questions, requests, and routine school needs. Receive and distribute mail, deliveries, and other materials. Maintain accurate records and assist with routine office tasks. Support attendance procedures, including documenting absences and communicating with families as needed. Assist with student sign-in/sign-out and other student-related office procedures. Communicate important information to teachers, administrators, and staff. Assist with scheduling, forms, filing, copying, scanning, and other administrative duties. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and staff information. Provide general support to the school office and assist with special projects and events as needed. Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and professional front office environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous receptionist, administrative, customer service, or school office experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment. Ability to work effectively with children, parents, teachers, administrators, and visitors. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment. Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and other common office technology.
