Maintenance Specialist-(OMH) SS Queens Adult Homes

Comunilife is looking for hard working Maintenance Specialists to work in a team environment at one of our locations throughout New York City. For more than 25 years, we have been a provider of supportive housing, for individuals with serious mental illness and/or chronic medical issues such as HIV/AIDS. Full time positions are eligible to participate in Comunilife's generous benefits package and paid time off benefits. The salary range for the position is between $17.00 to $20 per hour.

Responsibilities Include:

- Monitor the Facility’s interior and exterior entrances for cleanliness (including snow removal and removal of other hazardous conditions).

- Complete Work Orders assigned in an efficient and proficient manner.

- Work in a pleasant and respectful manner with all clients.

- Assist in fire safety and evacuation drills, procedures and training.

- Alert the direct supervisor, Asst. Director, Director or designee, of any unusual occurrences or violation of rules and regulations (i.e., no smoking regulations).

- Carry out cleaning duties as assigned to ensure the building reflects the standard of hygiene outlined and as directed by Comunilife management, including care of floors, bathrooms and public areas.

- Troubleshoot and perform repairs including, but not limited to:

- Painting, patching and sheet rocking

- Light plumbing including unclogging drains and basic plumbing skills

- Light electrical (from the wall out) including replacing fixtures and lighting ballast

- Lighting in general including bulb and switch plate replacement

- Lock repair and replacement

- Floor tile repair and installation including base

- General carpentry including interior renovation, duct work and tasks as assigned

- HVAC system cleaning, filter and belt changes
