Concessioner/Bartender

The Concessioner and Bartender role is responsible for maintaining operations of lobby concession stands, serving at our Pub and bars, and assisting customers. This position helps set the standard for our patron experience and ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction in concessions. Position reports to the House Manager.

This is a union position to be governed by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Chicago Shakespeare Theater and IATSE Local 750.

Essential Responsibilities

- Greet and serve guests at registers, taking orders for and making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

- Serve our patrons in a fast-paced environment

- Handle cash and accept debit and credit cards for payments

- Replenish concessions serving stations

- Clean and maintain neat, orderly counters, service areas, and concessions displays

- Manage inventory; assess inventory and prepare product orders as necessary

- Stock and restock inventory items as necessary

- Expedite resolution of patron conflicts and concerns, elevating to the House Manager as necessary

- Reconcile sales reports and registers at the end of every shift

- In the event of an emergency, direct patrons and staff to safety

- Break down concessions areas prior to the end of each performance for patron egress
