About the role
To act as a senior associate within a global financial services environment, providing commercially pragmatic and technically robust legal support on credit and lending matters. The role requires an experienced and self-sufficient lawyer who can independently manage complex transactions, build strong stakeholder relationships, and operate effectively within a cross-border legal team. Requirements Qualified lawyer with 5 - 6+ years post qualification experience gained within a leading law firm or financial institution. Strong experience in credit and lending, with exposure to large, complex financial transactions with minimal supervision. Familiarity with LMA and/or LSTA documentation. Strong collaboration skills within international, cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, particularly in high-volume environments. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Advise on a wide range of credit and lending transactions, including cross-border “flow” lending deals and associated client issues. Negotiate and manage facility agreements, predominantly primarily based on LMA (or where applicable LSTA) documentation. Provide commercially focused advice on legal and reputational risks, supporting effective business decision-making. Support legal and regulatory initiatives, including transformation, simplification and other strategic projects. Develop and maintain legal guidance materials, including playbooks and negotiation templates. Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments impacting lending products and structures. Work collaboratively within a cross-border, multicultural legal team, adapting to different working styles and jurisdictions. Supervise, mentor and support junior lawyers, including delegation and oversight of work. Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, building credibility and trust across business teams.
