Overview

Metallurgist support for division

Responsibilities

- Maintain a safe work environment

- Cross-train on other metallurgist positions within the division

- Identify opportunites for improvement in products and processes

- Design and manage trials for product and process improvements

- Assist in the development of new rail and structural grades

- Perform failure investigations and write technical reports outlining findings

- Participate in ongoing education by attending technical conferences and training

Qualifications

Required

- B.S. in Metallurgical / Materials Engineering (or equivalent degree)

- Outstanding written and oral communication abilities, including presentation skills

- High attention to detail

Preferred

- Steel industry experience

- Ability to travel
