Manual Welder

The Manual Welder is responsible for performing welding processes to fabricate, and weld metal components in a steel fabrication environment. This role involves working with a range of materials, including carbon steel and aluminum, ensuring high-quality welds that meet specifications and industry standards. This position will have experience reading blueprints, interpreting welding symbols, and using precision measuring tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals according to specifications. • Perform stud welding and/or metal finishing as needed. • Performs plasma cutting, ox-fuel cutting and other carbon arc gouging • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements. • Completes weldments using weld fixtures according to welding procedure specifications (WPS). • Under supervision, sets up welding equipment, adjusts machine settings, and selects appropriate filler metals for each job. • Inspect welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. • Verifies position of metal components in assembly table, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule. • Identify and repair weld defects. • Monitors machinery for appropriate usage and temperature. • Performs first piece inspections in accordance with company quality procedures. • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs. • Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure customer specifications are met. • Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards. • Accurately log job information into ERP computer system. • Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork. • Cross-trains and operates robotic weld equipment as needed. • Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
