About the role

The Opportunity St Francis of Assisi College is seeking a warm, capable, and highly organised Office Administrator / School Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our school. Working under the direction of the Principal (or delegate) with minimal day-to-day supervision, you'll be the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, and a key part of keeping our front office running smoothly. This is a hands-on, people-focused role for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving problems on the spot, and takes pride in delivering a professional, caring service to a busy school community. Key responsibilities include; - Providing a professional, friendly front-of-house experience, managing the flow of people, phone calls, and enquiries through the school office - Delivering high-level administrative support to school leaders, including diary and calendar management, correspondence, minute-taking, and preparation of meeting papers - Coordinating enrolments, recruitment support (job listings, interview scheduling, applicant communication), and new staff/volunteer inductions - Maintaining accurate student and staff records, generating reports, and preparing Government and Statutory Authority returns - Managing Working with Children Clearance and Volunteer Register compliance in line with CESA requirements - Acting as a designated First Aid Officer, maintaining First Aid facilities, records, and student Medical Emergency Plans About You We are seeking someone who: - Has demonstrated experience in a busy administrative or front-office role, ideally within a school or similarly fast-paced environment - Brings excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine ability to connect with children, families, and colleagues from all walks of life - Is highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities, and stays calm and solutions-focused under pressure or in unexpected situations - Is confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and can quickly pick up new systems and databases - Works well independently and exercises sound judgement, while also being a supportive, collaborative team member - Is committed to confidentiality, professionalism, and upholding the Catholic ethos and safeguarding standards of our school community - Certificate IV in Administration or Business (or equivalent demonstrated experience) - Holds a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance to work in Catholic Education South Australia (or willing to undertake) - Holds a current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings (or willing to undertake) - Holds a First Aid Qualification (or willing to undertake) as directed by the school For further information refer to the Position Description Why Us?
