About the role

About the Company

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business. A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family , we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight. Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.

Meet the Team

  • We're a diverse group of 9-10 "Performant C++" enthusiasts - we value collaboration, dedication and professional development.
  • We create the application layer in the truck. Our customers are the Feature teams (ie: Lidar, Camera, Planner…) - they use our SDK to compose their applications.
  • Our team formed a year ago, when Torc approved our proposal to own the application layer, building upon our success with tools for model inference. Recently we achieved a major milestone: our first internal customers deployed to the Truck apps built on our framework.
  • We're growing & we're on Torc's Critical Path for commercialization.
  • Performance matters - each compute module is resource constrained, it’s our job to empower full resource utilization across CPU, GPU and shared memory (related: nVidia AGX).
  • Safety matters - we share the roads with the public every day in Texas. Our code must adhere to industry best practices, and our team's deliverables play an important role in the safety case for Torc's Virtual Driver system.
