About the role
Position Summary: The Pickleball Instructor is a part-time position responsible for teaching pickleball to program participants and implementation of on-site activities and instruction. Work Location : Recreation Complex (111 Foster Ave) and various district parks and facilities Hours & Compensation - Rate of pay $20.00 per hour. Days and hours will vary based on instructor availability and patron demand. The schedule will be determined collaboratively by the instructor and the Supervisor. We anticipate initially offering classes on weekday evenings and weekend mornings or afternoons, with flexibility to adjust the schedule as needed. Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards. Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff regarding rule infractions, questions, and concerns. Lead activities and practice active supervision of participants at all times. Clinics, camps, lessons and drills involving the sport must be conducted with an emphasis on safety first and fun second. Must be able to successfully implement and maintain order during a wide range of drills and games. Communicate any accidents, safety concerns, maintenance issues, complaints, etc. to the Recreation Supervisor. Complete accident/incident forms as needed for submission to Recreation Supervisor. Maintain accurate attendance records. Necessary equipment should be set up and available prior to start of class and returned to storage area post-class. Class needs to be started and completed per time allocated. Notify Recreation Supervisor when supplies need to be ordered or restocked. Administer first aid as necessary. Maintain a clean and neat facility upon completion of each class. Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures, and ordinances. Distribute written communication to program participants as needed. Carry out any other duties as assigned.
