JOIN OUR WINNING TEAM!: Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) II SUMMARY Responsible for working independently in providing repairs and preventative maintenance for hospital clients’ Biomedical equipment. This position is required to maintain records, document results, and coordinate outside resources for repairs. Response times are measured to achieve customer requirements and satisfaction. βš™οΈ DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performs repairs and calibrations to biomedical equipment and maintains associated records by filing accurate and timely reports with Dispatcher. Solve problems utilizing analytical thought processes which may involve multiple contacts with internal and external resources. Assist other personnel as required. Interacts with vendors. Research resources and suppliers. Completes facility and company policy and procedure guidelines. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Conducts and maintains duties, personal appearance, interactions with fellow employees, staff, and customers in a professional manner. Comply with ongoing educational opportunities provided. Use unassigned time to increase knowledge on technology and procedures. Understands and works well with the auditing agencies and their requirements, i.e., ACHA, TJC. Understands NFPA-99 and electrical leakage limits with a good understanding of biological parameters (monitoring; HR/Pulse O2/O2 sat/pressures/etc.) Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification. πŸŽ“ PREFERED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Two-year degree from an accredited school in electronics or equivalent military experience At least three (3) years of related experience Completed internship with accredited program πŸ’‘ PREFERED SKILLS Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse audiences, both in person and in writing. Strong attention to detail — able to spot inconsistencies, follow processes precisely, and ensure accuracy in data entry. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Comfort navigating software tools to input, retrieve, and analyze maintenance-related data. πŸ— TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and sit for extended periods. Manual skill and coordination to use hand tools, test equipment, and computers. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to reach, handle, and work in confined or awkward spaces. Sufficient vision and hearing to safely perform equipment inspection and repair. Ability to work in clinical, mechanical, and office environments while following safety protocols. 🧰 TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Requires constant contact with staff and the public. Work is performed in air conditioned/heated facilities. Requires exposure to outside elements up to 10% of the time.
