About the role

The Role: Lead Software Engineer (UI) Location: Fremont, CA The Company Personiv is recruiting on behalf of Think Surgical Inc. A pioneer in medical robotics and world leader in image-directed, robotic products for orthopedic applications. The company’s product allows surgeons to plan their surgery using 3-D representation of each patient’s CT images, and then execute the surgical plan in the operating room, exactly as planned. The Role Think Surgical, Inc, The developer of TSolution One™ Surgical System, is looking for a experienced software engineer for development of sophisticated 3-dimensional (3D) medical applications for an active robotic system. The incumbent is experienced with medical image processing and analysis and with 3D kinematics. Responsibilities Lead a group of engineers in the design, implementation, and operation of the active robot in the UI, visualization, and workflow projects. User Interface (UI) development with experience in embedded systems doing User Interface design using Qt, Qt ToolKit, Qt/QML cross platform development, Qt cross platform C++ GUI framework, Qt Creator, Qt Core, Qt Designer, Qt Linguist, Qt Assistant, Qt Installer Framework, qmake, Qbs, CMake, QT Widgets, Qt Platform Abstraction (QPA), Open GL (ES), VTK libraries, VES Libraries, VTK python, Mayavi Data Visualizer, 3D Slicer. Solve 3D image registration and segmentation problems in medical robotics. Innovated solutions for 3D registration of objects to images and models with multiple constraints. Must be able to document, implement, and validate C++ application. Follow rigorous design control methodology and writes concise requirements specifications, architecture specifications, and design description, verification plans, and test cases. Performs testing of software for verification and validation. Manages schedules, meets, and adhere to development goals. Provides planning and status information to project manager. Qualifications 8+ years in medical image processing and analysis with C++. Strong knowledge in image segmentation and registration theory and practice. Strong working knowledge of object-oriented design, algorithm development Strong mathematical background in probability, statistics, optimization and computational algorithms. Excellent communications and documentation skills. Medical instrument development (FDA design controls) and industry experience preferred, but not necessary. A high level of creativity and self-motivation. Knowledge in QNX real time operating systems a plus. Experience in scientific medical visualization libraries QT, VTK, ITK and IGSTK. Experience in med ical visualization tools such as 3D Slicer and ParaView. Experience in GPU architecture and programming. Experience in Design of navigation systems and object tracking algorithms. Experience in surgical virtual-reality simulation systems. Experience in image-guided diagnostics/therapy MS or Ph.D in electrical engineering, computer science, or bioengineering.
