Staffing Coordinator

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining nursing schedules to ensure safe, appropriate staffing levels that support quality resident care and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), nursing leadership, and staffing agencies to fill open shifts, monitor attendance, and maintain accurate staffing records. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Essential Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update daily, weekly, and monthly nursing schedules. Ensure staffing levels meet facility census, acuity, state and federal regulations, and company standards. Fill open shifts by communicating with employees, PRN staff, and approved staffing agencies. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to proactively address staffing needs and scheduling challenges. Maintain accurate timekeeping, attendance, and "as-worked" schedules in accordance with payroll requirements and regulatory guidelines. Monitor employee attendance, call-offs, overtime, and schedule changes while communicating concerns to nursing leadership. Maintain current staffing records and complete all required documentation accurately and timely. Coordinate with external staffing agencies as directed by the DON or ADON to ensure adequate nursing coverage. Assist with scheduling orientation shifts for new hires and updating employee availability. Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and facility information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Provide exceptional customer service while interacting professionally with employees, leadership, residents, families, and agency personnel.
