About the role
We are looking for a full stack developer to join our growing team. At ApprenNet, we’re building the next generation of online learning. Our platform uses video role play and peer review to provide one of the best online learning experiences out there. We’re used by major corporations, schools of law, nursing, education, business and more to teach skills that really matter. We are a growing team tackling big problems: We want anyone to be able to learn real skills, anywhere We want to make online learning actually work We want to make online learning just as social as learning in the classroom We want anyone (yes, even people with slow internet connections) to be able to record and upload videos of themselves doing a role-play As a full stack developer, you can find yourself doing almost anything. You might be working on a rails engine to extend our Ruby on Rails web app, tweaking our docker container that handles deploys, writing clean javascript code for our node-webkit based desktop application, or almost anything else. We believe strongly in the importance of learning and you do too. Responsibilities Work on almost any part of our growing platform - from our web app to our hybrid mobile apps to our AWS infrastructure Work with teammates to identify challenging product and engineering problems and then dream up elegant solutions Identify areas where we can improve our platform and work with teammates to improve upon them Own major projects that will be used immediately by thousands of users Technologies we use Ruby, NodeJS, Javascript, AngularJS, BackboneJS, Node-Webkit, Docker, AWS, Cordova, Redis, MongoDB, Git We don't expect you to have experience with everything above, but if you do...great! Requirements You have experience working with an MVC framework You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or another technical field You have shipped code before - this isn't your first rodeo You think testing is just as important as writing code Benefits You will get to working at an e-learning company that cares about learning Our team likes to to have fun.
