About the role

WHO WE ARE Teaching Lab Studio incubates high-impact ideas made possible by the dramatic progress in generative AI. We believe that AI-enabled supports and tools can unlock the potential of both educators and learners in ways that haven’t been imagined, especially for those furthest from opportunity. WHO WE ARE Teaching Lab Studio launched in Spring 2024 as the innovation arm of Teaching Lab , a nonprofit organization with a mission to fundamentally shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning.

We were founded to tackle a fundamental challenge in edtech: how to balance innovation, meaningful impact, and the ability to reach many classrooms sustainably. Too often, edtech tools don’t have proven results, and those that show real impact struggle to grow. This leaves teachers with a flood of disconnected products that don’t work well together and don’t support the clear, aligned instruction they need. At the Studio, we’re working to change that by building tools that connect, support, and truly make a difference in classrooms.

OUR VALUES Teaching Lab Studio seeks to build the future of teaching and learning with AI-powered solutions. We have the following guiding beliefs:

  • The Power of Educators and Students: Our core belief is that all teachers and all students are capable of excellence, and that technology provides an infrastructure to support more responsive, connected, and supportive classrooms.
  • Tools Must Meet Needs & Product Impact: We build alongside teachers, students, and school partners so that tech solutions reflect real classroom needs. By doing this, we design tools that educators and students actually want to use.
  • Instructional Coherence and Ecosystem Thinking: We build ecosystems where tools work together to support whole classrooms; we build tools that are strong on their own and even more powerful together; we design for change that can spread across schools, districts, and systems.
  • Evidence Before Scale: We test, learn, and iterate before scaling – and we only scale what works.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR Teaching Lab Studio welcomes experienced individuals to submit their resume for future opportunities. We’re building something new and we need sharp, driven people who want to shape what edtech can be. Here are a few of the roles we’re often searching for:

  • Engineers: You love building things that matter. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, can move quickly without cutting corners, and get genuinely excited when your code ends up in the hands of teachers and students. Bonus points if you’ve worked on AI-powered products or care deeply about UX.
  • Project Managers: You keep ambitious projects from going off the rails. You’re a natural connector, communicator, and problem-solver who can balance timelines, stakeholders, and shifting priorities without losing momentum. You bring calm to the chaos.
  • Product Leads & Designers: You see the gap between what exists and what’s possible — and you can’t help but want to close it. You design with empathy, lead with vision, and know how to bring engineers, educators, and stakeholders along for the ride. You don’t just make things look good; you make them work better.
  • Operations: You’re the person who makes everything run smoothly — often invisibly. You thrive in fast-moving environments, love creating systems out of chaos, and keep teams aligned and on track. You’re not just keeping the lights on; you’re building the infrastructure for scale.
  • User Testers & Researchers: You believe great products start with listening. You’re invested in understanding how real users — teachers, students, school leaders — think and work. You’re skilled at turning informal feedback into clear insights that drive decisions.

If any of this sounds like you, please complete the application questions linked below. Providing your resume, relevant experience, and areas of expertise helps our team review your submission thoroughly and reach out if your profile aligns with future project needs. We’re always on the lookout for talented people who share our belief that technology — done right — can transform teaching and learning.

APPLICATION TERMS AND CONDITIONS I understand that any falsification or omission of information from this Employment Application can disqualify me from employment (includes rescinding an offer of employment or if hired, employment termination).

I understand that this Employment Application is not an offer of employment. If employed, employment is at will, and either party can terminate the employment relationship at any time.

I understand that if I am offered a conditional offer of employment, it would be contingent upon successful pre-work checks, which include references and verifications/checks for a social security number, education, employment, criminal records search (national and county), global watch list, and sex offender status. Depending on a specific partnership/contract requirement, the criminal background check process could include fingerprinting. At Teaching Lab’s discretion and with an individual’s signed consent, other checks could be completed based on the nature of the position. Moreover, I understand that Teaching Lab participates in a background monitoring service that provides updates for criminal records and sex offender status.

I understand that if I am offered and accept an offer of employment, I will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9), and provide supporting documents within three days of my hire date. Non-compliance will result in termination of employment. Teaching Lab participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. If E-Verify cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, Teaching Lab is required to give you written instructions and an opportunity to contact the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Social Security Administration (SSA) so you can begin to resolve the issue before any action is taken against you, including terminating your employment. Teaching Lab can only use E-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and completed the Form I-9.
