Engineering Technician – Costing Ubicación: Kohler Reynosa, Tamps. / Onsite BASIC FUNCTION The Engineering Technician - Process Engineering is responsible for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing master data, product costing, and production process information within SAP and related business systems. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, labor standards, machine rates, and cost structures that drive production execution, inventory valuation, financial reporting, and operational decision-making. Reporting directly to the Process Engineering Manager, this position serves as a critical liaison between Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Accounting functions. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex manufacturing data while supporting process improvements and engineering changes. Due to frequent interaction with both local manufacturing personnel and corporate accounting teams, the successful candidate must be bilingual, with Spanish as their primary language and advanced professional proficiency in English. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Manufacturing Master Data Management • Develop, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for products, assemblies, and subassemblies. • Create and maintain manufacturing routings, work centers, labor standards, and machine rates within SAP. • Ensure product structures accurately reflect current manufacturing processes and engineering specifications. • Maintain SAP master data related to materials, BOMs, routings, production versions, and related manufacturing information. • Conduct regular audits and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity. • Support implementation of engineering changes and process modifications through timely system updates. Product Costing Support • Develop and maintain product costing data used for standard cost calculations and financial reporting. • Analyze and validate material, labor, overhead, and process cost information. • Create and maintain standard costs and costing structures within SAP. • Support annual standard cost updates, cost rollups, and cost validation activities. • Work closely with Corporate Accounting and Finance to resolve costing discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records. • Evaluate and document the cost impact of engineering changes, process improvements, and manufacturing initiatives. Routing, Rates, and Process Structure Maintenance • Maintain manufacturing routings, labor standards, machine rates, and work center information. • Analyze process changes and determine their impact on product costing and manufacturing efficiency. • Update routings and manufacturing standards to reflect current production methods and operating conditions. • Support implementation of process improvements and cost reduction initiatives. • Ensure labor and machine rates accurately support operational and financial reporting requirements. Process Engineering Support • Assist Process Engineers in maintaining accurate manufacturing documentation and process information. • Support new product introductions by developing BOMs, routings, labor standards, and costing structures. • Participate in process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects. • Assist with manufacturing data analysis and reporting. • Support engineering change management activities and implementation of approved process modifications. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency. • Support Corporate Accounting with manufacturing cost analysis and SAP data maintenance. • Provide reports, analyses, and documentation to support operational and financial decision-making. •Participate in cross-functional projects related to process improvements, productivity, and cost optimization.
