Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support our accounting team. This role will assist with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, solid accounting fundamentals, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to financial reporting and process improvements. The Senior Accountant is a hands-on member of the corporate accounting team responsible for accurate, timely financial information across a private-equity-owned, multi-entity industrial manufacturing organization with operations in the United States and Mexico. The role combines core general-ledger ownership with manufacturing and operational analysis, internal controls, audit support, and process improvement. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in detail, investigating the business story behind the numbers, and partnering with colleagues across finance and operations. Why Join Our Team You will join a collaborative finance team that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, contribute to meaningful financial analysis, and support the continued growth of the organization. Employees are encouraged to bring ideas forward, develop professionally, and make a meaningful impact on the business. Key Responsibilities Own assigned portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and review-ready supporting schedules. Maintain general-ledger integrity for assigned entities and accounts; research unusual activity, resolve reconciling items, and ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies. Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and period-over-period variances; clearly explain material drivers and items requiring follow-up. Support consolidation and intercompany accounting across multiple legal entities, including intercompany balances, eliminations, foreign-currency activity, and coordination with local accounting teams. Perform manufacturing and cost-accounting analysis, including inventory, standard cost, labor and overhead absorption, burden allocation, purchase-price and usage variances, scrap, and gross-margin trends. Partner with plant and functional leaders to validate financial and operational data, investigate performance issues, and translate analysis into practical next steps. Support fixed assets, leases, inventory reserves, prepaid expenses, debt schedules, and other assigned balance-sheet and income-statement areas. Assist with external audits, tax workpapers, lender and private-equity reporting, bank or compliance requests, and other recurring financial-information needs. Execute and strengthen internal controls, maintain clear process documentation, and produce organized workpapers that can be readily reviewed and reproduced. Use ERP data and advanced Excel tools to improve reconciliations, reporting, and analysis; identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and shorten manual processes. Provide backup support for other accounting functions and complete special projects and ad hoc analysis as business needs evolve.
