OSHC Qualified Assistant Director (80+ Students) - Grade 5 50 Hours per Fortnight | 5 Days per Week Before School Care • After School Care • Vacation Care • Pupil Free Days Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) OSHC Service About the Role We are seeking a passionate, organised, and motivated Assistant Director (Grade 5) to support the leadership and daily operations of our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service. Working closely with the OSHC Director, the successful applicant will assist in delivering a high-quality, child-centred education and care program that provides a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families. The role includes leadership responsibilities, administrative support, compliance oversight, and direct engagement with children across Before School Care, After School Care, Vacation Care, and Pupil Free Day programs. Position Details • Position: OSHC Qualified Assistant Director (80+ Students) - Grade 5 • Hours: 50 hours per fortnight • Days: Monday to Friday • Programs: Before School Care, After School Care, Vacation Care and Pupil Free Days • Location: St Martin de Porres School, Sheidow Park • Commencement: To be negotiated with the successful applicant • Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time. • Annual leave: 2 weeks mandatory leave at Christmas/New Year close. Remaining leave cannot be taken during school term holidays. Key Responsibilities • Support the Director in the daily management and operation of the OSHC service. • Assist in leading and mentoring educators to deliver high-quality programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care. • Develop and implement engaging experiences that support children's learning, wellbeing, and development. • Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. • Support enrolments, administration, rostering, attendance records, and parent communication. • Foster positive relationships with children, families, school staff, parish, and the wider community. • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and child-focused environment. • Support Vacation Care and Pupil Free Day program planning and implementation. • Assume responsibility for the service in the Director's absence. • Ensure safe food handling, preparation, and storage practices are maintained at all times. Essential Criteria • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, Children's Services, or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification. • Demonstrated experience working in OSHC, education and care, or a related children's service. • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standards. • Strong leadership, organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead by example. • Current South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC). • Current HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, including CPR. • Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Training. • Current Food Safety Handling Certificate. • Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Fundamentals Training. • Completion of National Child Safe Environments / Child Safe Principles Training. • Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding and maintaining child-safe environments. Desirable Criteria • Previous leadership experience within an OSHC service. • Experience supporting Quality Improvement Plans and assessment and rating processes. • Understanding of Catholic education values and mission. • Experience coordinating Vacation Care and special event programs. • Experience using Xplor childcare management software and administrative systems.
