About the role

Job Summary Our client is seeking a hands-on Flatbed Division Accountant to manage the day-to-day operational accounting activities of its flatbed trucking division. The role focuses on expense control, invoicing, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and financial reporting to support operational efficiency and profitability. Tax and statutory reporting responsibilities remain with the Head of Accounts. Responsibilities: Record and control daily operational expenses including fuel, maintenance, allowances, tolls, and subcontractor costs Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner Monitor and follow up on accounts receivable and maintain debtors aging Manage accounts payable, supplier balances, and payables aging Reconcile invoices with trip sheets, delivery notes, and contracts Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries for the flatbed division Consolidate revenues and costs by truck, route, and customer Support cost analysis, budgeting, and profitability reporting Coordinate closely with operations, fleet, and procurement teams Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience (transport or logistics experience preferred) Strong understanding of invoicing, expense control, and reconciliations Experience managing high-volume operational transactions Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail, integrity, and accountability Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
