High School AVID Tutor

Description: HS AVID tutors provide a safe and nurturing environment for all program participants. This position provides support to the after-school Anaheim Achieves Program with an emphasis on tutoring students and providing homework help. Under the direction of the program supervisor, this position will tutor students in higher level math, sciences, AP classes, or any other class that students may need assistance. Please note that during school summer vacation, Anaheim Family YMCA is hiring high school AVID tutors to start work when the next school year begins in August. There may be no or limited hours of work during the summer. This position serves high school sites. HS AVID tutors observe and manage behavior of students during the program according to approved policies and procedures under the direction of the site’s program supervisor. They must be alert and sensitive to individual needs of the program participants and follow all health, safety, and risk management practices. HS AVID tutors must attend various on-going training sessions.
