Blacksmith

- Removes worn or defective shoe from hoof.- Repair shoes in Paddock.- Examines hoof to detect bruises and cracks and to determine trimming required.- Verify shoes during paddock time for compliance with rules.- Trims and shapes hoof.- Selects aluminum or steel shoe from stock, according to hoof measurements and animal usage- Nails shoe to hoof and files hoof flush with shoe.- This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and team members may also be asked to perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
