Job Description The General Teacher is a fully professional role responsible for delivering a robust and thoughtful curriculum, ensuring student learning and emotional growth in a core content area (e.g., Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, General Studies). This position includes: Instruction: Planning and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that reflect a commitment to progressive teaching methods and content mastery. Curriculum Development: Individually and collectively contributing to the creation and refinement of the curriculum . Student Support: Building strong, authentic relationships with students, serving as a mentor and guide for their academic and social-emotional development. Collaboration: Actively collaborating within a grade-level or divisional team and with specialist (studio) teachers to create interdisciplinary and integrated learning experiences. Communication: Maintaining effective and proactive communication with parents regarding student progress and partnership in education. Community: Attending weekly faculty meetings, participating in routine school duties, and engaging in ongoing professional learning and curriculum development initiatives.
