Summary

Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes to metal products.

Responsibilities

- Requires training in the operation of paint and blasting processes and the mixing of various paints & provides paint back up when needed.

- Reads job information and locates correct tools and materials.

- Moves parts into the proper location to prepare the parts for paint.

- Cleans parts with wire brush & solvent.

- Applies masking tape & rubber plugs to the areas that are not to be painted.

- Helps the painter using hooks, eyebolts & the crane to move the parts into &out of the paint booth.

- Inspects the parts to ensure they meet our quality specifications.

- Places parts on a rack or skid to dry &moved to the next operation.

- Handles physical disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with company policies

Required Qualifications

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training

- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions

- Troubleshoot problems and report issues

- Must work well in team environment

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift

- Use of hands and fingers to perform job function

- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
