About the role
Looking for more than just a job but only able to commit to 5 to 10 hours per week? Need evening and weekend hours? Want to earn extra cash while making a difference in our community? We're seeking a compassionate, dependable Part-Time Mental Health Technician to support individuals on their journey toward improved mental health and wellness. Join a team that's committed to changing lives, one person at a time. If you're someone who leads with empathy, communicates with respect, and thrives on a team, this is your opportunity to create a safe and supportive environment for persons with severe and persistent mental illness, enabling them to live independently in our community under the direction of the Community Support Program (CSP). Every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact. Whether you're just beginning your career in behavioral health or have experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, we'd love to meet you. What you'll do: As a Mental Health Technician, you'll work alongside a dedicated team of professionals to provide compassionate, person-centered care. Responsibilities include: Building positive and supportive relationships with clients that promote recovery and well-being. Conducting daily evening medication delivery and client check ins as needed, particularly on weekends, evenings and some holidays. Collaborating and communicating with CSP on-call during afterhours and weekends/holidays to report any concerns or unusual events. Providing education and assistance to CSP clients, helping them develop independent living skills (i.e. cleaning, hygiene, cooking, shopping, money management, social skills) while providing transportation as needed. Maintaining contact notes and other required paperwork in a timely manner and according to governing standards. Collaborating with a dedicated Case Management team to provide exceptional care related to client treatment needs. Attending staffing meetings during scheduled shifts helps reinforce collaboration. Complete annual staff training and professional development opportunities. Provide fill-in or flexible coverage as requested by the CSP supervisor. This includes morning and evening medication delivery and leading CSP group sessions on weekends or holidays. As a dynamic and fast-paced position, other duties may be assigned based on program needs. Why work for Family and Children's Center? Meaningful work that truly changes lives. Flexible, part-time scheduling. Supportive and collaborative team environment. Paid training and opportunities to grow your career and knowledge base. Competitive pay and referral incentives. Opportunity to gain valuable professional experience to further your career and education. Employee Assistance Program for all employees.
