About the role

Payroll isn't just about getting the numbers right. It's about trust. The difference between a payslip that's simply processed and one that's exactly right. What it takes to run two countries' payroll without missing a beat. Why the smallest error is the one people remember longest. That standard is what this role is built on. The Role We're looking for a Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll for Lorna Jane, across Australia and New Zealand. Based at our Eagle Farm head office and reporting directly to our CFO, you'll lead a team of 2 — our Payroll Officer and Compliance Officer — with full ownership of how our people are paid. One day you're deep in award interpretation, making sure a multi-site retail workforce is paid exactly right. The next you're partnering with retail on rosters, presenting to the CFO on wage costs, or coaching your team through a tricky compliance question. Both matter equally here. This is a hands-on role, so you'll be able to put your skills & experience to good use while still managing a small team. What You'll Own • Payroll, start to finish. Accurate salary, wage, overtime and allowance calculations across a multi-site retail workforce. • Compliance, without compromise. STP, superannuation, PAYG and NZ equivalents (PAYE, KiwiSaver) — kept current, kept clean. • Award interpretation. Confident application of modern awards and enterprise agreements in a multi-site retail environment — GRIA and other retail award experience highly regarded. • Workforce management. Partnering with retail to build rosters that align staffing to trade, and reporting that supports smarter decisions. • A team of 2, led well. Two direct reports — our Payroll Officer and Compliance Officer — developed and supported to do their best work. What You'll Bring • Strong end-to-end payroll experience, including time leading or supervising a team. • Multi-entity, trans-Tasman exposure — AU and NZ payroll experience highly regarded. • Proven award interpretation in a multi-site retail environment, with GRIA and other retail award experience highly regarded. • Exposure to rostering, time & attendance and labour-cost management. • Above all, the discretion of someone trusted with confidential information, every time. About Lorna Jane We're Australia's original activewear brand. 37 years. Founded by a woman, built for women, led by women. Our belief — that life is better when you Move, Nourish and Believe — has never changed. This is a brand with real purpose, real heritage, and a community of women who genuinely love what we stand for. Beyond the role, you'll be part of a business that backs its values, including our partnership with Women's Community Shelters. The Details Based at our Eagle Farm head office, four days a week, Fridays we work from home. Full-time, permanent. Reporting to the CFO. If this sounds like your next move, we'd love to hear from you — tell us about the payroll environment you're proudest of building or improving.
