MEOS - Data Operations Specialist

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES He/she will be working with the Senior Data Quality Engineer to ensure proper monitoring, alerting, and tracking of data processes (ingestion, integration, & quality processes). Should be able to identify, assess, monitor, document, and communicate potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used. Identify the root causes of data quality errors, remediate them according to the defined protocol, and recommend long-term mitigating solutions. Should be able to document data operation and monitoring solutions in clear and concise guides. Execute data quality runbooks when required, including notifying 3rd party data providers, communicating the issues to MIO data stakeholders, and restarting data processes. Should be good at creating and codifying data quality rules using the data quality platforms (Informatica) for use by the broader data operations team. Create and maintain data catalogues and business dictionaries/glossaries in Informatica. Participate in committee meetings and workshops with data stakeholders. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES 2+ years experience in a data quality, systems analyst, or data-focused role. Experience in developing and following policies and procedures relating to data and quality improvement. Familiarity with the concepts of Data Governance, Data Quality or Master Data Management is an advantage. Familiarity with the Informatica cloud suite of products is an advantage. Good understanding of programming and scripting skills (e.g., SQL, Python) to support data operations and automation. Experience in solving data analytics problems and effectively communicating results and methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and English communication skills, both written and spoken Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technology Strong communication skills and ability to present results to management teams to allow them to interpret the results and make effective decisions Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis or equivalent relevant qualification.
