About the role
The successful candidate for the position of Industrial Electrical Technician shall be fully capable of performing all job functions below: Job Tasks: Identify and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems quickly and effectively. Identify and repair electrical problems, regarding, wiring, breakers, fuses, panels and transformers. Have a detailed and extensive knowledge on OSHA/State of Maryland electrical regulations and be able to ensure compliance. Train and mentor electrical technicians to become electricians. Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic diagrams, sketches, ect. Ability to redesign/modify existing PLC and other electronic programs to enhance or change machinery outputs. Ability to layout, design and assemble various electrical projects, such as building an electrical cabinet or running power to sensors. Interface with vendors and all internal departments. Schedule and perform electrical machine maintenance as needed. Provide technical support in troubleshooting production machinery. Coordinate/specify the ordering of electrical components required to complete assigned tasks. Maintain documentation of electrical requirements for all facilities and machinery. Record all maintenance information as work orders on work order-based software. General knowledge and operation of fabrication equipment such as: drill press, sheer, band saw hand power tools, ect. Assist with the engineering department in analyzing processes and implementing electrical changes that increase productivity and cost savings improvements. Serve as team leader on electrical projects. Job Skills: Good mechanical aptitude. General understanding of general machine and electrical maintenance. Complete, distribute and file correct forms to purchase, stock and inventory parts. Schematic/blueprint reading. Production/manufacturing troubleshooting capability. Computer literate, including Excel, Word and able to record work performed on work order-based software. Skilled in the following technical areas: Power Distribution High Voltage System (480v) Panel Lay out and System Schematics Industrial Electronics Synchronized Motion Control (calculation of system parameters) Industrial Electronics Electrical Shop Practices Servo Controls Working knowledge of safety regulations: OSHA National and State Electrical Code
